Marine Engines
Inboard Marine Engines from Mercruiser, Volvo Penta and other suppliers are usually customized car and truck engines from manufacturers like Ford, General Motors and others.
Depending on how you plan on using your boat it may be necessary to custom built an engine for your specific needs.
Engines used in freshwater environments at low to mid rpms may generally be stock with no modifications whatsoever. If you plan on using your boat in saltwater environments it will be necessary to built the engine with brass freeze plugs and special marine gaskets.
